Fall

Parker and Maggie seem older each and every day. The months are flying by, Halloween is over and now Thanksgiving is only days away. Before we know it, Christmas will be here and that means half of the school year is over!! Time really needs to slow down I don't want my babies to get older. I'm spending today making Pumpkin cookies and Chocolate Chip cookies to take to the farm. Parker had a blast this past weekend tailgating at the Penn State Game and actually getting to watch the game really made his day. Maggie and I had a great time shopping and she picked out some great boots which she modeled this morning!!!

Track Out

We're enjoying our first track out of this school year. We spent the first 8 days in Disney and had a great time with all the grandparents and my cousins that we hadn't seen in 3 years. Just look at the pictures and you'll see that we had lots of fun!!! Now we're spending our days close to home playing with friends and enjoying the down time. We're going to Bounce U on Tuesday and I'm hoping to find a pumpkin patch to go to on Wednesday and finish out the week going to a kids halloween party with our neighbors!

Love It!

Last night Brian and I went to Jimmy V's for dinner and had a wonderful time! The kids stayed with April and Joey and had a blast playing with Oliva and Davis. We were hanging out with April and Joey when suddenly the running kids came to a standstill. Maggie and Parker ran into one another and Maggie knocked out Parker's top front tooth. So here's a picture of our Jack-O-Lantern!!!

Keep your eyes out for some exciting news!

You should see Parker, he looks like a Jack-O-Latern! One of his top middle teeth is getting ready to fall out, it looks like it's pointing out of his mouth. We keep telling him to keep his fingers out of his mouth but he seems so excited for it to fall out. Don't be surprised if a picture is posted tomorrow!! Oh yeah, he is already missing 2 teeth on the bottom so he's gonna look silly soon!

On to Maggie, this afternoon she asked to watch a movie upstairs in the guest room. She picked out Barney's Christmas, I was trying to be funny and said "your weird" and she replied "yeah Parker tells me that sometimes!!"

Another Fall Saturday

Our day started off earlier, Maggie cheered for the 9 o'clock game but had to be at the field at 8:05 for pictures. Her squad did a great job!

We ended up staying at the field all morning, Parker had pictures at 10am followed by an 11am game. His team did an awesome job, I think the final score was a tie. You can tell by the picture below that Parker was full of determination!

We were all hungry after the morning on the fields so we headed to Cleveland, NC (it's about 20 minutes from our house) for a charity lunch that benefit a young boy battling cancer. Darth Vader, R2D2, a Stormtrooper and Jengo Feit were there giving high fives to all the kids. The boy's Cub Scout Troop put the benefit together and collected $5 from each person for lunch all of which was going to help his family get through this tough journey. I am so thankful that Parker and Maggie are healthy!

And before I forget, the kids had a great week at school and this is crazy but they only have two weeks left before they track out then we're off to Disney!!!

Falls is Here

Fall is here, at least it felt like it this morning! We were up and out of the house early for Parker's first Flag Football game. He got to hike the ball, run the ball and he had a great catch that helped them gain some yards. They don't keep score but Parker said it was 12 to 12, I said oh I thought it was 2 to 2, and his reply was "Mom your still thinking about how they score points in baseball!!" Parker also told me that he needs to get heavier because at this point he won't be playing tackle football next year because he doesn't weigh enough!!!!

Once Parker's game was over it was time to move our chairs to the middle of the field to watch Maggie cheer on the football players. She did a great job and had a great time doing it. At one point I looked out on to the field at the football players and there were a few players watching the cheerleaders instead of getting ready for the next play!!! At half-time the ref came over to Maggie's coach and asked if the girls wanted to do a half-time cheer out on the field, they looked good!!! Check out the half-time show on YouTube!

Taylor Swift Concert

On May 2nd I took Maggie to her first concert, still can't believe I took my 5 year old to a concert!!!! We started off the night with dinner at Pei Wei, Maggie ate her entire dinner with chop sticks. From there we headed to the RBC Center for the show. We were a little disappointed when we arrived and found out that Kellie Pickler was ill and wouldn't be opening for Taylor Swift. Our seats were really high but it didn't matter, Maggie started singing the moment Taylor hit the stage!!

Enjoying some "Dippin Dots" before the show!
Think she's having fun!

Parker's 7th Birthday

I can't believe my little boy turned 7, it seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital. Parker wanted to go to the races to celebrate his birthday, so he invited the neighbor kids and their dad's and headed to the Wake County Speedway. He came home from the race with the biggest smile on his face, he said it was awesome and a car caught on fire!
We spent the Saturday before his birthday going to the local bike shops checking out bikes and trying to figure out what type of bike to get him. He tried out BMX bikes and Mountain bikes and each time he was on a Mountain Bike he smiled from ear to ear!! So on Sunday Brian took Parker out and bought him a mountain bike, it has "7 gears". All Parker wants to do is ride his new bike!

Maggie's Cooking Birthday Party

The cooking for Maggie's party started weeks before the actual party. Maggie and I made cupcakes for all her friends as part of the invitation.

Maggie wanted to make cookies to give each of her friends. She has so much fun rolling out the dough and using flower cookie cutters to make the cookies. After the cookies cooled, Maggie covered the cookies in red icing then she used white icing to write the first letter of each guests name. She did a great job with the letters.

Everything is ready, now we just need her friends to arrive! I had so much fun preparing for Maggie's party. I used scrapbook paper to make the birthday banner and search all over for pink and green decorations.

I wanted to make Maggie look special for her party so I used an extra apron and some fabric I already had to make her this cupcake shirt.
The Little Chefs really enjoyed the aprons and hats. I found the girls aprons on celerance and bought an adult matching apron and use that to put the details on the hat. The boys aprons and hat details are made from a table cloth I found at Target.

I can't believe she's 5 already, where has the time gone?

Parker's Cub Scout Camping Trip!!!

This past Friday all I heard was "when is daddy going to be home!" The boys left with in an hour of Brian getting home from work. They spent the weekend playing kickball, fishing and hiking. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest and there were thunderstorms on Saturday night and I was home watching the news and saw that not only were there thunderstorms but there were tornadoes in the area. I was so happy when they called to say they were on their way home, I new they were safe!!! Parker had fun telling me all about his weekend. Make sure to ask Parker about the skit his den did at the camp fire, he thinks it's really funny!!!
Lights Out!!
Trying to start a fire!
Parker's den goofing around.
Waiting for the fish to bite!

It's Maggie's Birthday!!!

It's Baby Girl's 5th birthday, hard to believe it's been 5 years already!! Maggie woke up very happy, even with her stinky cough.

Maggie requested that we start the day off with Dunkin Donuts just like last year, but this time she wanted a "manager's special" donut instead of the normal pink frosted. So we sang Happy Birthday and she blew out her candle and as you can see she really enjoyed her donut.

Then it was on to presents! Maggie asked for clothes and socks for her birthday, which we gave her but boy she was surprised when she open her DS!!! Parker sent Maggie on a treasure hunt that he put together for her and at the end was his present for her!

Maggie's Last Soccer Game

Saturday started early at our house this past weekend. Parker had 8am baseball practice and Maggie had to be at the fields by 8am for her last soccer game. She and her teammates did an awesome job. Brian and Parker were there in time for the last quarter and to cheer the team on for the last time. Great season Cheetahs!!!

Let's Go Golfing

Brian surprised us today by taking the afternoon off and taking the family golfing at Crooked Creek Golf Course. It was Maggie's first time golfing, don't think she's interested yet but she had fun riding in the cart! Parker has golfed a few times but this was his first time playing 18 holes and he did awesome. As for Brian and I, Brian played this past weekend with a friend and I think the last time I played a round of golf was in 2003 before Parker was born!!! It felt great to play and I look forward to playing again soon!

New to Blogging

I've been reading blogs for a while now and decide I would give blogging a try. It shouldn't be hard I have two young children that keep this family going.

Models for the amateur photographer

Maggie and Parker have been such good sports modeling for me. I received a dslr for Christmas and I'm learning something new about it everyday. I built a backdrop out of PVC pipe last week and used a king size sheet as the actual backdrop. Brian is thinking that there won't be anymore portraits taken at Portrait Innovations, Mommy is now the family photographer!!!!
